Kimberley Allan is a family physician with enhanced surgical skills at Elk Valley Hospital in Fernie, BC. Kimberley did her family practice residency in northern Alberta through the University of Alberta and her surgical training in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, with the University of Saskatchewan. She also completed a Bachelor of Human Kinetics and B.A. in First Nations Studies as well as her MD at UBC. Her area of interest is rural obstetrical care and helping ensure access to maternal care in order to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. She hopes to involve global health through both on the ground clinical work and advocacy in the future and feels the MGSC will help her better understand the ethics of advocacy, logistics of planning and evaluation of programs and allow her to better serve the populations she works with locally and internationally.
