Huiyu (Anne) Li worked in the professional education field and has been involved in many neurosurgical training programmes in China for more than ten years, representing medical device providers (Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, and Shanghai Haoju). Anne is interested in how manufacturers of medical devices also can be good resources to integrate into surgical care programs in low resource environments. Anne feels the GCGSC greatly stimulated her interest in global surgery, particularly in the area of training. It helped her understand the importance of global surgery. She plans to use all the tools and knowledge she gained in this certificate program to improve healthcare in her specialty and beyond, starting with implementing the surgical care plan she presented as part of her final SURG 516 assignment.
