SURG 560 Final Report: Out of pocket and catastrophic health expenditures of families from seeking pediatric surgical care in a tertiary hospital in Tanzania

Godfrey Sama Philipo, a student of the MGSC program, recently published their SURG 560 final report to UBC CIRcle.  This report summarizes the final practicum project “Out of pocket and catastrophic health expenditures of families from seeking pediatric surgical care in a tertiary hospital in Tanzania.”

Dr. Sama Philipo’s project was a retrospective study which aimed to assess the burden and factors associated with catastrophic health expenditures (CHE) and the risk of impoverishment among families of children receiving surgery in Tanzania.
