Mercedes Pilkington is a pediatric general surgeon who is joining the faculty at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery as a clinician-global surgeon at the University of Toronto. She completed the Graduate Certificate and later Master in Global Surgical Care whilst completing her General Surgery residency at Queen’s University and then her Pediatric Surgery fellowship at the University of Calgary. She looks forward to using the foundational skills and knowledge gained from the Master’s program to build an academic practice that will allow her to explore her interests in providing safer surgical care globally.
