Cara Weessies completed her medical degree at the University of Alberta and is currently in the General Surgery residency program at the University of Manitoba. She is still deciding whether to subspecialize after residency, but no matter where she ends up, she is eager to incorporate the skills and knowledge she learned through the MGSC to advance global surgical care both in Canada and abroad.
