The Branch for Global Surgical Care s very pleased to launch it’s Strategic Plan 2022 – 2027.
The plan was developed based on discussions at brainstorming sessions with our Advisory Committee and stakeholder consultations to gain feedback from the global surgical care community. The feedback received focused on building capacity in surgical care through equitable, diverse, inclusive, socially responsible, ethical, innovative, sustainable, and planetary-conscious educational programs, research, collaborations and partnerships.
This Strategic Plan will guide the future priorities of BGSC to ensure the programs and projects are in alignment with the needs of low-resource settings worldwide.
These priorities will be achieved through an evidence-based, collaborative and anti-colonialist approach, in alignment with the UBC Faculty of Medicine Strategic Plan and the Department of Surgery Strategic Plan.
